There is no legislative requirement for refresher training for any units of competency from National Training Packages. It is however, suggested that refresher training be conducted every 3 years. This refresher training is at the discretion of the employer.
Course participants will learn about applicable legislation and company confined space procedures, definitions and types of confined spaces. Participants will learn about hazard identification and risk management procedures, hazardous atmospheres including, gas monitoring techniques isolation, purging, ventilation, permits and authority.
participants will also be enabled to Identify legislation, regulations and safety requirements, Identify scope of task and work activities, Manage hazards, Identify safety systems and equipment, Safely access work area, Conduct work at heights safely, Monitor safety equipment and risk treatments. Apply emergency procedures, Finalise operations, Clear work area and store tools and equipment.
Have a satisfactory understanding of the roles and responsibilities of teams including, standby rescue equipment and procedures. Students who successfully complete this nationally recognised training will be awarded the statement of attainment:
